Telephone Service

Telephone Service

Each room has dial tone. You will need to bring your own telephone instrument. Upon move in you will be able to dial 9-1-1, call any on campus extension and receive calls (no collect calls can be accepted). In order to make off campus calls, you will need an authorization code.  You automatically receive an authorization code in your move-in packet.

Authorization Codes

Authorization codes must be kept confidential, as you will be held responsible for all charges made with the authorization code issued to your student ID number. If you do not want to keep your authorization code you can cancel it by filling out a Telephone Authorization Code Cancellation form also included in your move-in packet.

Charges

There is no charge for an AUTHORIZATION code. You will only be billed for off campus calls that require you to enter your AUTHORIZATION code to complete the call. Our telephone rates are as follow:

local $0.018/min
state $0.122/min
national $0.255/min
international $0.823/min

Billing

You will be able to view your toll charges summary on-line by using your Student ID Number and Authorization Code at the following web address: http://tag.ucr.edu/studentbill.
