Residence Life Staff

The emphasis of our staffing responsibilities is centered around developing an atmosphere, which enables you to study, excel academically, participate and enjoy the variety of programs presented in the Residence Halls and on campus. The residential staff provides direct service to students, and is easily accessible to their residents.


Director of Residence Life:

Jeanette Bradeen administers all Residence Life programs, which includes supervision of the live-in staff, program development, and student development. She directly supervises the Assistant Directors for Academics and Programming, Judicial and Counseling, Leadership, Training, and Staffing.


Judicial Affairs Coordinator:

Audrey Pusey provides programmatic and administrative support for the Department of Housing and Residence Life in the area of judicial affairs. She investigates and adjudicates violations of University housing policies by residential students; and develops sanctions for students that promote personal/academic development and enhance University standards.

Assistant Director of Residence Life-Academics & Programming:

James Smith oversees the Faculty in Residence and Faculty Fellow Programs, and the Academic Resource Center. Additionally, James supervises the Resident Directors at Glen Mor.


Assistant Director of Residence Life-Judicial & Counseling:

Audrey Pusey has the responsibility of educating residents as to their responsibilities in the UCR Housing community. She has overall responsibility for the adjudication process for all resident conduct situations including peer review boards. She supervises the Resident Directors at Lothian.


Housing and Dining Services Programs Manager:
James Smith is r
esponsible for the development, implementation and management of cultural, educational, social, and recreational programs and activities for UCR Housing and dining. He also works with various campus offices to plan and promote student events at the Barn.

Assistant Director of Residence Life-Leadership:

Mary Tregoning has the responsibility of providing opportunities that will increase your leadership experiences and knowledge.  She advises the Residence Halls Association, the National Residence Hall Honorary, the Leadership Academy, and leadership classes. She supervises the Resident Directors at Pentland Hills.


Assistant Director of Residence Life-Staffing:

Kafele Khalfani has the responsibility of recruiting and selecting our student staff and the professional Residence Life Staff. Also supervises the Resident Directors at A-I.


Assistant Director of Residence Life-Training:

Robert Stephens has the responsibility of training our student staff and the professional Residence Life staff. He supervises the Residence Directors for
on-campus apartments and family housing.


Resident Directors (RDs):

Resident Directors are full-time professional staff members with extensive experience working with students. They are responsible for the total operation of their buildings. This includes supervising the Resident Program Directors, Resident Advisors, and Program Coordinators, helping residents with housing and personal problems, advising RHA Hall Councils, helping residents work toward healthy communities within the halls, and adjudicating student conduct situations.


Resident Programming Directors (RPDs):

All RPDs are half-time, live-in staff members and full-time students who assist the RDs. They are directly responsible for the supervision and evaluation of the PC staff. The RPDs are active with the halls and meet with residents regularly.


Academic Programs Assistant (APA):

The APA is responsible for assisting in the management of Academic Resource Center. This includes working with campus departments to maintain scheduled satellite services for housing students. The APA will also coordinate and facilitate on-going communication and program development between student staff and professional staff as it relates to upcoming procedures and processes.


Judicial Affairs Assistant (JAA):

The JAA is responsible for assisting in managing the overall Housing-Residence Life conduct system, data management (correspondence and records), and hearing coordination of the University-owned Residence Halls (3000+ residents) and Apartments (1500+ residents).  The JAA coordinates and advises the Housing Peer Review Board, working with the administrative and training details of the Peer Review Board.


Leadership Assistant (LA):

This position is responsible for assisting with advising the Residence Hall Association (RHA) Executive Cabinet, as well as the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH). The LA will be the primary advisor for the Executive Cabinets of the above student groups.


Student Staffing Assistant (SSA):

The SSA is responsible for assisting in the creation, development and management of student staff training manuals, resource materials and administrative procedures designed to facilitate student staff training and selection. The SSA will also coordinate and facilitate on-going communication and program development between student staff and professional staff as it relates to upcoming procedures and processes.


Resident Advisors (RAs):

The RAs are students who live on the halls and are in constant, everyday contact with the 40-60 residents. They receive many hours of training to assist you and your neighbors in creating a healthy community. They are also responsible for communicating and responding to Residence Life policies. RAs sponsor and organize hall activities throughout the year. In addition, they assist with emergency procedures in the hall, monitor building security and report maintenance problems. The RA helps residents with roommate problems, reviews hall damages, interacts with the custodial and maintenance staffs, and intercedes in hall conflicts.


Program Coordinators (PCs):

The PCs plan, organize, and promote all Hallwide educational, academic and social programs, which amount to over 100 programs annually. They produce a quarterly activities calendar and assist with emergency procedures.
